Accredited Facility Dogs

An accredited facility dog is a specially trained dog that works alongside a professional in a service setting to provide therapeutic or emotional support to individuals. Facility dogs can provide reassurance to children and youth and have a calming effect on young victims and witnesses during their investigative interviews, meetings with the Crown Attorney, while waiting to testify, and during their testimony.

Boost CYAC has two Accredited Facility Dogs, Aria and Grumman, who support children and youth during forensic interviews, therapy sessions, court preparation, meetings with the Crown Attorney, while waiting at court and during their testimony in criminal court. Our dogs are bred and trained by National Service Dogs and our use of facility dogs follows the Courthouse Dogs Foundation’s model.
